Project Description

The work includes the supply of all labour, materials and equipment (excluding equipment identified as owner supplied in the Tender Documents) to construct the secondary treatment units as part of the Phase 3 upgrade of the Ladysmith WWTP. The work includes, but is not limited to, the earthworks, concrete works, structural, mechanical and electrical systems necessary for the complete upgrade as detailed on the Drawings.

The scope of work included:

  • Installation, testing and commissioning of all owner supplied equipment including:
  • MMBR equipment and instrumentation, DAF Tanks, Neuro Blowers and MBBR/DAF control equipment and systems
  • Influent pump, sludge pumps and mixers, odour control fans and filtration equipment, reclaimed water filtration package, centrifuge
  • Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical and electrical equipment, SCADA and instrumentation, control systems, including pipes, cable trays, supports, valves, fittings, air and odour ducts, and HVAC
  • Construction of reinforced concrete structures tanks, pads, bases, other concrete structures and retaining walls including all incidental excavation and disposal, and all ancillary works for a complete and functional facility
  • Construction of all buildings and enclosures, including the administration offices and workshop, DAF room and all related facilities and services including HVAC, lighting, plumbing and fixtures, and millwork for a complete and functional facility
  • Supply, installation and commissioning of pipes, valves and pumps in the headworks and dewatering building, the chlorine contact tank, the spirogester pump station and the integration of the existing instrumentation and controls into the new plant wide SCADA system, construction of underground pipe and electrical conduits between the new MCC rooms and the other primary, secondary and tertiary treatment facilities, and site works
