Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant Polymer System Improvement Project

Summary

Tritech is the Prime Contractor for the supply and installation of three new dry polymer make down units, polymer metering pumps, and dilution water systems, as well as associated upgrades and retrofits to the existing Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant. The work also includes removal of the existing emulsion polymer tanks, pumps, and ancillary supporting structures and equipment.

The key components of the Work are generally as follows:

  • Supply and Installation of three (3) new dry polymer make down, metering systems, and associated ancillary equipment and structures.
  • Removal of the existing tanks, pumps, and ancillary structures from the pretreatment and residuals handling buildings. Off-site disposal/recycling, or salvage of removed materials and / or equipment, as requested by the Corporation.
  • Relocation of stairs, air handling units, exhaust fans, lights, among others, as needed.
  • Routing and tie-in of new polymer piping to existing polymer lines, i.e., FAP and WWRP.
  • Tie-in to existing service water lines.
  • Repair of concrete and patching, where needed.
  • Buried connection of WWRP polymer line to WWR flowmeter chamber injection points.
  • Disinfection of all equipment and piping installed prior to functional testing.
  • Commissioning and Functional testing of all equipment, including dry polymer make down units, metering pumps, service water lines, shower/eyewash, and pipes.
