Port Alberni Wastewater Lagoon Upgrades

Project Completion: February 2021

The key components of the work include:

• Demolition of the existing electrical building, existing infrastructure in berms.
• Ground improvement and piling works for building and pump station platform support.
• Construction of new screen and treatment buildings, including supply and installation of fine screens/compactors, slides gates, stop logs and emergency bypass.
• Construction of new berm (including preloading), dividing lagoon in two cells.
• Site works and tie-ins to the existing pipes, City lagoon, flowmeter chamber, junction chamber, force mains and new screening building.
• Construction of sewage pumping stations.
• Supply, fabrication and installation of all process piping, gravity storm & sanitary sewer, precast, water line, and plumbing including valves and appurtenances.
• Supply, fabrication and installation of heating and ventilation systems.
• Supply and installation of electrical, instrumentation and controls systems including new transformer, MCC and genset.
• Construction of access roads.
• Startup, commissioning and testing.
