Grit & Sedimentation Tanks 2025 Refit Work
Summary
Tritech is the prime contractor for the Greater Nanaimo Pollution Control Centre (GNPCC) 1, 2 & 3 Grit and Primary Sedimentation Tanks Refit project, which includes, in aggregate, both repair of the concrete tanks and replacement of all the collector mechanisms of the Grit and Primary Sedimentation Tanks at Greater Nanaimo Pollution Control Centre (GNPCC) in Nanaimo, BC.

The Scope of Work includes:
- Remove existing and install new collector mechanism and drive at Grit Tank #2.
- Remove existing and install new collector mechanism and drive at Sedimentation Tank #2.
- Demolish & re-surface concrete wall anchor patch areas at Grit and Sedimentation Tanks #2.
- Demolish & construct new concrete drive pads, corbels and screeds at Grit and Sedimentation Tanks #2.
- Demolish obsolete center bay 150 mm (6 in.) x 200 mm (8 in.) HSS scum line and repair resulting voids in concrete columns and walls at Sedimentation Tank #2.
- Demolish T-rails and repair resulting voids in concrete floor at Sedimentation Tank #2.
- Repair T-rail voids in concrete floor at Sedimentation Tank #3.
- Demolish and replace 2” water piping at Sedimentation Tank #3.
- Demolish and cap 4” effluent piping at Sedimentation Tanks #2&3.
- Remove greased nipples along Sedimentation Tanks #2&3
