Ahousaht First Nation is located on Flores Island (25 min water taxi from Tofino). Tritech was General Contractor for the construction of the new Ahousaht Wastewater Treatment Plant, Pump Station, Forcemain, Marine Outfall and ancillary systems.
Tritech’s scope of work for this project included:
The supply and installation of all equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems for the construction of the following:
New Pump Station
Two WWTP buildings
Treatment Equipment: Headworks Equipment, Clarifiers, RBCs, UV
Sludge Processing Equipment: sludge pumps, dewatering equipment, sludge holding tank
Force mains and Outfall
The work for the project also included:
Excavating and backfilling the site
Modifications to the existing septic tank system
Installation of pipes, valves and pumps inside the new Treatment Plant building and pump station
Heating and ventilation
Electrical work including MCC, genset and facility grounding
Integration of the new instrumentation and controls into a SCADA system, testing and commissioning
Construction of underground pipe, manholes and electrical conduits between the new equipment and facilities; and
Environmental mitigation involving eelgrass transplanting and rock reef construction following outfall installation
